Reiki & Dreaming
Reiki developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui, is a “laying on hands” technique to reduce stress, promotes relaxation and CHAKRA healing. It is administered by a trained therapist that possess the ability to channel energy or “life force energy” on to the patient.
The therapist touch activates the natural healing process of the patient’s body and restores any physical or emotional imbalance. Reiki is still considered to be a pseudoscience therapy and not a religion. One who practices the art of reiki must live a life in a way that promotes love and harmony with all living things.
The word Reiki is based of the Japanese language (Rei) that means “Universal Life”, and (Ki) represents “Energy”. Reiki is not considered a religion or even a massage, but more of a metaphysical art form of healing the body. An attunement can only be carried out by a Reiki Master, any person can gain access to this energy with guidance.
It is said that this life energy flows through all living things including plants and animals. In order to become a reiki master the students are not taught from books, but rather the training of the mind, body and soul. This serious step involves students to take Reiki I & II courses with advanced Reiki training.
One must also change their lifestyle and meditate to become more in-synth with the KI (energy). Some Reiki practitioners also claim that their practice can be carried out from a distance, once they they have connected verbally. During the attunement process the master opens up the crown, heart and palm chakras that links both the master and student.
What To Expect
After a Reiki session patients can feel a warm glow radiating throughout the body, once correctly done by a properly trained master. The Ki energy has the ability to treat any difficulty within the body, as well as any energy blocks causing imbalances. During the treatment patients can experience a range of emotions such as laughing, crying and even body jerks, as the energy passes through ones body.
Some have said they haven’t felt any energy but that still doesn’t mean the energy is not doing it magic. Before the session the client has the opportunity to discuss any issues or problems to the practitioner. The client will also tell the master what they want out of the session.
The session usually begins when the client rests comfortably on a table or chair, focusing on their breathing. Being fully clothed the master can then send energy (light) by using a light touch or being hands free.
The practice of Reiki has been an amazing wellness tool to increase a more relax state of mind, and remove any stress that has been pent up in the body. Reiki treatment does not have the ability to heal any disease or sickness, but can help open up channels for more positive energy to move through.
Usually a session last approximately and hour but in some cases take longer. Stress is considered the number one killer in the world, so what better opportunity is it to have a reiki session done.
Reiki main goal is to promote the well being of the client, as well as reduce stress levels in the mind. Reiki has been known to help people with anxiety and depression by removing emotional blocks thus bringing more room for positive thoughts.
Understanding how our thoughts can cause havoc in our body internally and externally, a session in reiki can help bring the issues to the surface. The magical Ki energy has been known to help ease body pain, as well increase mobility to area that were not working that well.
